Privacy
Short version: your first name, suburb, photo and short bio are public. Your surname, email, licence and the address of a meet are not. We never sell your data and we never handle money.
What we hold
Your details. First name, surname, email address, city, suburb, photo, short bio and interests.
Your identity check. A link to a social profile, a photograph of your face and an image of the front of your driver's licence, plus the result of the automated check.
Your activity. Events you host or belong to, seat requests and the notes on them, events and RSVPs, messages on an event's board, reports you make.
Basic technical records. Sign-in times, and whether an email we sent you was opened or a link in it was clicked.
Who can see what
Anyone, including people not signed in: an event's name, what it does, its category, city and suburb, date and time, how many seats are taken, and the host's first name, photo and short bio.
The host of an event you ask to join: your first name, suburb, photo, bio and the note you wrote her.
The people in your event: your first name, photo, suburb and bio, the event, RSVPs and everything posted on that event's board.
Only our team: your surname, email address, your licence image and the result of your check, and any reports about you.
Your licence is stored privately, is never shown to another member, and is never used for anything else.
Why we hold it
To run the site: to show listings, to let a host choose her members, to check that people are who they say they are, and to send the few emails that matter — a seat request, a decision, your event filling, a meet coming up. That is all.
We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to train models.
Who else touches it
Our hosting, database and email providers process data on our behalf under contract. The automated licence check is run by an AI provider on our behalf; the images are sent for the check and are not used to train their models.
How long we keep it
Your details stay while your account exists. Licence images are kept only as long as needed for the check and any review of it, and are deleted after twelve months at the latest. Board messages stay with the event until the event is deleted.
Your choices
You can change your name, photo, suburb, bio and interests any time on your profile page. You can leave a event. You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and your personal details.
Write to hello@comealongclub.com and we will act within 30 days. If you are not happy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Cookies
We use one thing that behaves like a cookie: a sign-in token so you stay signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies on this site.
